Appalachian Trail Link: Appalachian Trail | Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a continuous footpath extending 2,178 unbroken miles from Maine to Georgia along the Appalachian Highlands. One hundred miles of the trail passes through the Shenandoah National Park, exiting the park four miles east of Front Royal on Route. 522 in Chester Gap. Considered the "Everest" of long-distance hiking trails, the Appalachian Trail, or "A.T." follows gentle grades in the park: climbs rarely exceeding 500 - 1,000 feet. Frequently crossing Skyline Drive, the Trail boasts many access points, roadside amenities, backpacking shelters, and several picturesque rustic back country cabins operated by the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC). Loops for day-hikes can be made by joining the white-blazed A.T. with the many blue- and yellow-blazed side trails in the park. Maps for the Appalachian Trail are produced by the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, and sold at the Front Royal Visitor's Center. |

We began as a herb farm, growing culinary and medicinal herbs for the garden center trade. Our herb farm, Sunflower Cottage, grows 120,000 potted herb plants each spring from seeds and cuttings to sell to other garden centers and to our own customers. We now have over 20 beer recipes approved by the State of VA. Our tasting room bustles and our scratch kitchen cranks out delicious dishes prepared with our own fresh herbs and farm grown produce in season. In the spring , summer and fall, gardens abound, families enjoy the farm, the scenery, the corn hole, the labyrinth and chalk boards. Pets are welcome. We host 3 annual events, The Virginia Herb Festival (June), BRB Hop Harvest Party (August) and BRB Holiday Market (November).
You are cordially invited to come and drink our beer, eat, play and spend some time. |
