Career Development Program

The Front Royal Police Department utilizes a Career Development Program to further the professional growth and capabilities of the employee’s current and future job role. Sworn personnel fall within the Master Police Officer (MPO) Program and civilian Communications staff fall within Master Communications Officer (MCO) Program. These 4-step programs are based on career counseling, job requirements, and in-service training.

  • Certified Virginia Police Officers on lateral transfer will start in the mid-range of PO II, depending on experience/qualifications and will be eligible for advancement to PO III after 1-year.
