Chief Kahle Magalis assumed the duties of Chief of Police for the Front Royal Police Department in October of 2017. Magalis previously served as Major at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office where he had been employed since 1998. Chief Magalis is a graduate of the 264th session of the FBI National Academy. Chief Magalis is actively involved in the area and is a member of numerous community services organizations within Front Royal and Warren County.
Major Ryman is responsible for managing the overall direction and supervision of the Front Royal Police Department. Major Ryman began his law enforcement career in 2000 and has been in a command position since 2013. He is involved with the Critical Incident Response and Emergency Management and has attained a Professional Development Certification through FEMA, Major Ryman is also also a graduate of Administrative Officers Course #135 of Southern Police Institute at University of Louisville.
Captain Cline has been with the force since 2001 as a civilian and then moved forward as a certified police officer in 2003. Captain Cline commands the Operations Division of the Department which consists of Field Operations of the Patrol Division, Investigations Division and Critical Response components of the Agency. Captain Cline is a graduate of Roanoke College with a Degree in Business Administration as well as Administrative Officers Course #146 of Southern Police Institute at University of Louisville.
Captain Whited began his law enforcement career in 2001 and has held numerous positions within the Department. Captain Whited was promoted to command position in January 2023. Whited commands the Logistic Division of the Department which consists of Communications, Property & Evidence, Records/FOIA Department, Equipment Procurement and serves as the Training Coordinator for the agency. Captain Whited has completed the FBI LEEDA Leadership Trilogy and continues to pursue advanced leadership and management education.
