Town residents receive refuse and recycling pick-up on the same day.
Roll-out carts are used for refuse collection and standardized bins for recycling pickup. Roll-out carts are assigned to a particular residence; therefore, the resident before you should have left the roll-out cart for your family to use. Should you move into a home without a roll-out cart, contact the Refuse & Recycling Division at 635-7819. Recycling bins can be purchased by the resident and can be any Rubbermaid-like container.
Residents will set up their refuse and recycling service when they establish an account for electric, water and sewer at the Town Business Office.
Items are to be placed at the curb before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m. the night before their collection day.
The holidays generally observed by the Town include New Year's Day; Martin Luther King Jr. Day; President's Day; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Columbus Day; Veteran's Day; Thanksgiving Day; Day after Thanksgiving; Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
If your refuse and recycling day falls on an observed holiday, your collection day will generally be moved to Wednesday of the same week. Residents can check the newspaper, Comcast Cable "Government Access Channel 16" and this website to confirm the holiday schedule.
