Review of Construction and Design Projects

All public improvements constructed in the Town are reviewed and inspected for compliance with the adopted standards and specifications. DES is responsible for both in-house design projects and coordination of projects developed by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Town engineering consultant firms. DES also reviews all proposed construction plans connecting to existing infrastructure and those plans requiring modification or construction of stormwater conveyance or management systems.

Copies of the Standards and Specifications can be obtained for a fee from the Town's Purchasing Agent, Monday - Friday, 8:0am - 5:00pm at (540)636-6889 in the Front Royal Administration Building located at 102 E. Main Street.

If you would like to schedule an inspection, please contact DES, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm at (540)635-7819. DES is located at the Walter M. Duncan Public Works Center & Property Yard at 800 Crosby Road.

If you are conducting any construction in Town that involves digging or excavating, please contact MISS UTILITY at (800)552-7001.

If you have questions pertaining to erosion and sediment control, please contact the Warren County Building Department, Monday - Friday at (540)636-9973. Their office is located in the Warren County Government Center, 220 N. Commerce Avenue.

Right-of-Way Utilization Permits are required for all construction, road closures and/or restriction of on-street parking or sidewalk withing the Town Right-of-Ways. Please contact DES for the necessary forms.

The Town provides online documentation, when available, for the projects and/or services for which bids or proposals are being solicited. Bid and Request for Proposal (RFP) invitation information is available from either DES or the Purchasing Agent.
