ELECTRIC CAR CHARGER

is now available for use...

The Town is pleased to announce that the charging station of electric vehicles is currently open for use. This charging station enables owners of electric vehicles traveling to Front Royal along I-81 or I-66 to re-charge their vehicles quickly and conveniently while visiting Downtown Front Royal. The charging station can charge vehicles equipped to connect to the fast charge in thirty minutes. The station is equipped to provide charging service to both CHAdeMO (Japanese and Korean) and SAE-CCS Combo (USA and European) electric vehicles.

Users of the charging station will need to download the "Greenlots" mobile app to their smart phone. The mobile app is necessary to activate the charging station and pay for its use. For more information on this equipment and how you can access it, please visit www.afdc.energy.gov/locator/stations or www.plugshare.com

The charging station was provided at not cost to the Town by Virginia Clean Cities (VCC). VCC is an alternative fuel and air quality non-profit organization dedicated to advancing our energy, economic and environmental security through petroleum reduction and clean transportation. VCC is a state and federally recognized coalition staffed in partnership with James Madison University. To learn more about VCC, please visit www.vacleancities.org.
