Chapter 148 SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT. (updated 7-28-08)

Section 148-1 PURPOSE AND INTENT.

A.  The purpose of this chapter is to establish certain subdivision and land development standards and procedures for Front Royal, Virginia, as provided by the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended.

B.  These Articles are part of a long-range plan to guide and facilitate the orderly beneficial growth of the community and to promote the public health, safety, convenience, comfort and general welfare. These standards and procedures provide a guide for the change that occurs when land becomes more urban in character as a result of residential, business or industrial development; provide assurance to purchasers of lots that they are buying a commodity suitable for development and use; and provide for the construction of safe, adequate and more efficient public facilities.
