Chapter 138 SOLICITORS AND VENDORS.
Section 138-1 GOING ON PRIVATE PREMISES.
The going upon the property of private residences in the town by solicitors, peddlers, hawkers,
and itinerant vendors, not having been requested or invited to do so by the owners or occupants
of such residences, for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares and
merchandise, or for the purpose of disposing of, peddling or hawking goods, wares and
merchandise, or for the purpose of solicitating contributions without having first obtained a
permit or an exemption under the provisions of Virginia Code Section 57-48 et seq. shall be
unlawful.
