Section 134-80 UTILITY INSPECTOR
A. A
Utility Inspector may be appointed by the Town
Manager. It shall be the duty of the Utility Inspector to enforce
all
provisions of this Code and other ordinances of the town relating to
the inflow
of rain or surface water into the sanitary sewer system and to inspect
and test
drains and fixtures for inflow.
B. Whenever
it is necessary for the purpose of
enforcing the town ordinances or whenever the Utility Inspector has
reasonable
cause to believe that there exists, in any structure or upon any
premises, a
drain or connection which could jeopardize the public health by
allowing rain
or surface water to flow into the town's sanitary sewer system, the
Utility
Inspector or his designated agent may enter such structure or premises,
at all
reasonable times, to inspect the same or to perform any duty imposed by
the
provisions of this Article, provided that, if such structure or
premises is
occupied, he shall first present proper credentials and request entry.
If
such entry is refused, the Utility Inspector shall have recourse to
every
remedy provided by law to secure entry.
