The Town of Front Royal is excited to announce “Back to Business. Back to Nature.” - a plan to assist our businesses while adhering to safety guidelines, and mandates set forth by Phase Two of the Governor’s “Virginia Forward” re-opening plan.
As part of this initiative downtown businesses and restaurants will be able to expand their services, displays and seating areas onto the sidewalks and Main Street. Additionally, Royal Cinema will be showing an outdoor movie, weather permitting (times may vary). You are welcome to bring a lawn chair. Businesses which operate outside of the Historic Downtown and who wish to participate may contact Interim Town Manager Matt Tederick at (540) 635-8007 to coordinate a location to set up to sell their merchandise.
There will be a temporary vehicular road closure of Main Street, Kidd Lane and part of Chester Street every weekend (Friday at 4:30 PM – Monday at 7:00 AM). Parking will be available at the Gazebo entering from Laura Virginia Hale Place only. Restaurants will need some time to set up outside after the road closure; therefore, it is anticipated that they will be prepared to seat customers around 5:30 P.M. on Friday.
To reiterate, this is not a festival, but it is an opportunity for citizens to get out and visit our restaurants and businesses throughout Front Royal. All citizens are expected to maintain 6 feet social distancing and follow other guidelines as directed by Governor Northam’s Executive Order 61 and Executive Order 63. Restaurants may provide additional guidance as well.
Should you have questions, please contact the Town of Front Royal’s Public Information Office at 540-631-3600.
